  • 50g of fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste

  • Cutting board
  • Serving platter

Instructions:

  • Start by washing the tomatoes and basil leaves under cold water.
  • Slice the tomatoes into thick rounds and arrange them on a serving platter.
  • Cut the fresh mozzarella cheese into thick slices and layer them on top of the tomatoes.
  • Tuck in the fresh basil leaves between the tomato and mozzarella slices for an appealing presentation.
  • Drizzle extra virgin olive oil over the top.
  • Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
